DOCUMENTATION
Welcome to the docs
A practical guide to setting up, customizing, and integrating Totems.
Totems is a React frontend template for building your own application. Start with a working example, understand the parts it uses, and replace the sample content with your own product.
Draft documentation: these guides describe the current development source. Final customer packaging, the minimal starting project, and supported-environment details are still being prepared. The demo currently displays earlier Toumei branding. There is no purchase or download available from this site yet.
Get a working starting point
Get Totems running locally walks through installation and one small, visible edit. Then use the source map to find page code, shared UI, fixtures, and styles.
The stack is React, TypeScript, Vite, Bootstrap, React Bootstrap, and SCSS. You should be comfortable editing React components and running terminal commands.
Customize the interface
- Routes and navigation: add a page and make it reachable
- Layouts and preferences: choose horizontal or vertical navigation and theme behavior
- Styling and themes: change shared design settings without scattering overrides
- Components: reuse page headers, tables, and native library integrations
- Forms and validation: preserve labels, errors, and useful submission feedback
Make it your application
Read Demo data and services before connecting an API. Adapt an app example points to useful starting files for Projects, File Manager, Calendar, and Chat.
Totems supplies the interface and demonstration interactions. Your application supplies authentication, authorization, storage, API access, uploads, messaging, and other production services. A working demo interaction does not establish a production integration.
Check your result
Use Build and deployment to check production output and direct-link behavior. Troubleshooting covers installation, routing, styling, and demo-state surprises.
These guides are separate from the Help Center example inside the demo application. Example pages may have different levels of completion; a menu entry is not a promise that an entire application is ready to ship.
